The countdown of Oregon State Football’s most valuable player continues with number 13. Just 15 more days until the home opener!

#13 Elu Aydon - Defensive Tackle

The first thing that pops into your mind when you see Elu Aydon walk onto the field is, “damn, that guy is big.” Well, it turns out the 6-3, 377 pound senior uses his frame pretty well to fill interior running lanes. Aydon is the most experienced defensive lineman for the Beavs next season and also coincidentally was the most productive last year. During his OSU career, Aydon has played in 33 games (starting 7), has made 74 tackles (7 TFL’s), and 1.5 sacks. Last season, he was a small bright spot against the run in an otherwise abysmal season for the line. Aydon tallied 37 tackles (4.5 TFL’s) and half a sack.

We all know that the defensive line is going to be a rough spot for the Beaver defense next year, and the Jeromy Reichner news isn’t going to help. But with that said, Aydon will look to end his career with a bang, and should be able to help sure the middle of the defensive line. I think Aydon will continue to be productive against the run, but if he can work on his bull rushing against the pass, he could turn out to be a pleasant surprise for Beaver fans next season.

Projected Stats:

46 Tackles, 6 TFL’s, 1 Sack
