Can Hodgins and the new look D line makes some noise this year?

The college football season is quickly approaching! We continue BTD’s countdown list with number 17.

#17: Isaac Hodgins- Defensive lineman

The younger of the two Hodgins brothers cracks our list at #17. The sophomore defensive lineman will be one of, if not the most, important pieces of the new look defensive line. Having started 11 games as a true freshman a year ago, Isaac will be looking to build upon his 30 tackles and 2.5 sacks. The Oregon State defense’s success will be determined by the play of the big guys up front and Hodgins development will be key. While the defensive line recently took a hit with the news that Jeromy Reichner will miss the season with a torn ACL, another year of improvement from Hodgins as well as veteran Elu Aydon and a host of talented transfers I fully expect the defensive line to look light years ahead of where we have seen it the past few seasons.

Can Hodgins help create the havoc in the backfield that we haven’t seen for a few years? My magic 8 ball says yes.

Projected Statistics:

45 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and one big guy TD. Bring on the Piesman!
