The college football season is quickly approaching! We continue BTD’s countdown list with number 18.

#18: Kaleb Hayes - Cornerback

After making eight starts as a redshirt freshman last season, Kaleb Hayes looks to take the next step in his Oregon State career. He played in all 12 games last season after redshirting the year before where he garnered some attention by mimicking Khalil Tate on the scout team. The athletic defensive back has the skills to be a shut down corner, but this year he will need some help from the front seven to do their job to put pressure on the quarterback. He should pair nicely with Isaiah Dunn (#21 on the list), giving the Beavers a pair of six-footers on opposite sides of the field to cover some of the Pac-12’s best at the wide receiver position.

Is the former high school quarterback ready to take the next step? We’ll find out at the end of the month!

Projected Statistics:

38 tackles, 12 pass deflections, 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble
