Oregon State Football: Most Valuable Player Countdown - #27 Tyjon Lindsey

One of Oregon State’s most promising transfers could take the receiving corps to the next level.

We’re just 29 days away from Oregon State welcoming Oklahoma State to town, so we’re continuing our countdown of the 50 Most Valuable Beavers this season. Today, we’re looking at one of the newest members of the team.

#27 Tyjon Lindsey - Wide Receiver

One of the Nebraska transfers that decided to come to Corvallis when both coaching staffs were shaken up, Tyjon Lindsey is ready to make an impact for the Beavers. During his short time as a Husker, Lindsey made 16 catches for 98 yards.

Lindsey looks like a great option to line up in the slot, making use of his speed off the line of scrimmage and solid juking abilities to create space in the middle of the field. It’s going to be very interesting to see Lindsey finding his role on the team. If Jesiah Irish is as good at stretching the field as he seems to be, it’s going to create a lot of room for a player like Lindsey to make plays, to say nothing of the contributions from veterans Isaiah Hodgins and Trevon Bradford. This is a very crowded backfield, so while the ball is probably going to get spread around, Lindsey should be able to make an impact even without lighting up the stats column.

One other story to watch is how Lindsey syncs up with fellow Nebraska transfer Tristan Gebbia. They spent time together during Mike Riley’s final season with the Huskers, and while Gebbia didn’t see any gametime, if they built up any sort of rapport during practice it could make for an explosive combo for Oregon State.
