We continue our most valuable players list at #42, now just 44 days away from the Beavers season opener against Oklahoma State at Reser. With fall camp right around the corner, it’s starting to get real.

#42 Isaiah Smalls - Tight End

There’s no question that Isaiah Smalls has made a big recruiting impact for the Beavers through his social media presence, but the sophomore tight end is bound to make a bigger on field impact in 2019.

Last season, Smalls was active in all 12 games and totaled 12 receptions for 118 yards. His best game came against Nevada on Sept. 15, where he caught 4 passes for 66 yards. Though he played in every game last season, Smalls was utilized more as a blocker than as a receiver, but I think that will change going into next season

With a (hopefully) healthy Jake Luton slinging the football around next season, there should be more opportunities for Smalls to get the ball thrown his way, and he has the ability to not only catch the ball, but make some plays after the catch as well.

Projected Statistics:

21 Receptions, 256 yards, 1 Touchdown
