It’s definitely summer when your college football team is touting that its turnover gimmick was voted best in college football. Last week, the official Oregon State Football Twitter account came out with this graphic:
The reveal of the vote was back in September by FanJuicer.com (link), but it has made a comeback after @CFBKings on Twitter retweeted the poll results. We understand. The chainsaw is the perfect prop for the Oregon State Beavers as there are so many parallels between a woodworking mascot and the college's forestry roots. This got us at Building the Dam thinking, what other woodworking tools could Oregon State use as a catchy prop?
Spin Move Lathe
Who doesn’t love a successful spin that lets the running back leave a defender in the dust?
Big Hit Drill Press
When a player drills another, he gets to use the drill press on a cutout of the opponent he put the hurt on.
Nice Route Router
Awarded for those crisp routes.
Hot Press Block
Specifically for those pancake blocks where the lineman falls on top of the defender.
Jack Colletto Belt Sander
For when the gritty (see what we did there?) Colletto runs for positive gain.
Angle Grinder Chip
Because there’s nothing like seeing paint fly off of an opponent’s helmet.
Trick Play Band Saw
Awarded for that extremely intricate play design turns out just right.
Kick Return Blowtorch
A big return can get a team/stadium fired up.
Long Run Chisel
Cause the running back just carved up some defense.
Alignment Punch Punt
When the punter executes the perfect punt that goes out at the opponents’ one yard line.
Close Kick Planer
For when that clutch kick makes it just barely through the upright.
