After declaring for the NBA Draft over a month ago, Ethan Thompson has made the decision to remove his name from the draft and return to Oregon State for another season. His announcement comes less than a week after Tres Tinkle announced he would be returning to school. The move isn’t shocking, as Ethan wasn’t invited to the NBA Combine, but today was the last day that Ethan could file paperwork and announce his intention of returning to school for his junior season.
That’s great news for the Beavers; losing Ethan Thompson would have left a massive hole in the roster. Ethan started 31 games as a sophomore and averaged 13.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 34.4 minutes per game.
In other basketball-related news, Oregon State is in the running for Kelvin Jones, a 6-foot-11 big man transfer from Idaho State University. Jones would be a huge addition as a grad transfer and could play big minutes next season for an Oregon State team that is lacking in post-players after the departure of Warren Washington.
