After declaring for the NBA Draft over a month ago, Tres Tinkle has made the decision to remove his name from the draft and return to Oregon State for another season. The move isn’t shocking, as Tinkle wasn’t invited to the NBA Combine, but he did work out for a few NBA teams, including the Sixers, Celtics, Raptors and Hawks.
That’s great news for the Beavers; losing Tinkle would have left a massive hole in the roster. Tinkle has been the team’s leading scorer the past two years, averaging 20.8 points per game in 2018-19. He was also the team’s top rebounder, with 8.1 per game.
The status of Tres’ teammate Ethan Thompson is still up in the air. Thompson also declared for the draft, and has until May 29th to decide if he wants to forego his college eligibility or come back for another season. Building the Dam will have news on Thompson once he makes his decision, so be sure to check back regularly.
