Oregon State legend Derek Anderson has officially retired from the NFL

Anderson was drafted in the 6th round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. He had his best season in 2007 with the Cleveland Browns when he made a Pro Bowl. During his 14 year career he also spent time in Arizona, Carolina and Buffalo.

Oregon State Softball is finishing up it’s regular season, but not before landing some Pac-12 honors. Senior outfielder Shelby Weeks and Sophomore pitcher Mariah Mazon were named to the 2nd team, while infielder Frankie Hammoude and Maia Rader were named to the freshman squad.

NFL Draft expert Rob Rang thinks the Beavs have several candidates to get picked in the 2020 draft. He lists Jalen Moore, Blake Brandel, Jordan Whittley, Noah Togiai, and Jake Luton as potential picks, as well as Art Pierce and Trevon Bradford as priority free agents. I was surprised to see Gus Lavaka and Elu Aydon left off his list.

Junior wide receiver Tino Allen has entered the Transfer Portal. With the emergence of Jesiah Irish among others during spring ball, Allen was less likely to see the field. We at Building The Dam wish him the best wherever he ends up.

The Beaver Wrestling squad added a handful of members. Signing nine student athletes to Jim Zalesky’s squad

Drilling 3’s may get a little harder in college basketball, The competition committee is recommending moving the 3 point line to the international line at 22 feet and inch and 3/4.

Finally OSU sophomore Ellie Slama is headed to the NCAA golf championships. She shot 3 under during a 3 day regional including a bogey free 66 on the final day that tied an OSU record.
