Sunday Poll: How far will Oregon State Women’s Basketball Go In the 2019 NCAA Tournament?

Can Scott Rueck lead the Beavs to another deep run this year?

NCAA Womens Basketball: NCAA Tournament-First Round-Oregon State vs Western Kentucky News Sentinel-USA TODAY NETWORK

The NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Selection show will air Monday night at 4 PT. The Beavs are #11 in the nation after finishing the regular season 24-7. It speaks to the depth of the Pac-12 conference in women’s basketball that, on paper, the Beavers are the the third or fourth best team in the league and will still most likely host games in the opening rounds.

ESPN’s latest projections have the Beavers as a four seed in the Albany regional. Those projections also have them opening the tournament against UC Davis with them playing the winner of Missouri vs Boise State in the second round.

Based on those projections, it seems to me like this team has a clear path to the Sweet Sixteen. After that, they’d likely run into a one seed like UConn or Notre Dame. Beating a one seed certainly isn’t impossible, but it’s a tall task nonetheless.

But what do you all think? What’s the ceiling for this Beaver team as we get set for the postseason?
