It’s the first installment of the Civil War for the 2019 baseball season.

The Beavers are 12-1-1 on the year. Yep, another year, another weird tie...

Anyway, the Seattle Baseball showcase over the weekend proved pretty productive. OSU nabbed two wins against Minnesota and Indiana and then were locked in a heated tie with Coastal Carolina in the 11th when the game had to be called due to a time limit of three and a half hours imposed by the event.

Now, the Beavs are back at home for a midweek tilt against that team from Eugene. The Ducks are a respectable 10-4 to start the year after taking three of four against Hawaii on the road last weekend. The likely starting pitcher for today is Kolby Somers, a sophomore lefty from Hillsboro with three appearances this year and just over six total innings of work. The Ducks are crafty baserunners, so that will be a big defensive point of focus for the Beavs if they want to win their tenth straight against the Ducks today.
