After a disappointing loss to the Stanford Cardinal Thursday Night at Gill, the Beavers decided that they wouldn’t repeat that mistake, as they played a magnificent second half to beat the Cal Bears today at Gill.

Oregon State came out shaky, as they only led 38-32 at halftime to a subpar Cal team and at times they were either tied or behind. Cal was led by the trio of McNeil, three-point shooting big man Vanocer, and silky smooth Justice Sueing, as the trio combined for 47 points. Ethan and Stevie Thompson woke up in the second half, combining for 41 points in the game.

Tres Tinkle had another stellar game, hitting key three-pointers in the deciding minutes, as he finished with 19 points and 4 rebounds. Tres also had a dunk which resulted in an and-one over/around Cal’s 7 foot something Vanocer. Kylor Kelley chipped in 8 points and 4 rebounds and had a few tenacious dunks of his own.

The Beavers can obtain the second place spot in the Pac-12 tonight if the Huskies beat the Sun Devils. Next week is a huge game for the Beavs, as they take on the one and only Oregon Ducks in the Civil War Part II, next Saturday at 7:30. Be there at Gill Coliseum to cheer them on!
