In the third game of the series Sam Tweedt got the start and was masterful picking up the win. He went six innings and gave up just one run. Freshman Jake Pfennings and Andrew Walling closed out the last three innings allowing just one hit and no runs.
The offense could not be stopped and provided plenty of run support. The tacked on 17 runs on 18 hits. Kyler McMahan totaled 4 hits on the day. Beau Philip and Joe Casey each added 2 RBIs, but overall it was just a fantastic group effort. The Beavers really broke the game open in the third and fourth innings jumping to a 10-0 lead.
After today’s game Oregon State will head back to Corvallis and will make their 2019 home debut against West Virginia. The Beavers and Arizona State remain the last two undefeated Pac-12 teams. Another undefeated 7-0 team? College World Series contender, Coastal Carolina, who the Beavers will face March 10th in Seattle as part of the Seattle Baseball Showcase. Should be a great game!
