Oregon State Basketball - Opponent Preview - Oregon Ducks (Game 24)

The second installation of this season’s Civil War rivalry goes down on Saturday.

Saturday marks the latest installment of the Civil War and the Ducks travel up the I-5 to take on the Beavs in Corvallis. The Ducks have found a second wind this season after the news that Bol Bol would use the remainder of the season to fully heal from a stress fracture. This has forced the Ducks to dig deep, as they continue to find their identity in an incredibly up and down season.

With Bol out, Dana Altman has started looking down his bench, calling on the services of true freshman Miles Morris. Miles is a incredibly athletically gifted wing/forward hybrid that boasts perimeter skills to go along with his freaky dunks. Louis King has also emerged as a star, scoring in double digits mundanely, as he nearly led the Ducks over the Beavers the last time the two teams met in Eugene. Kenny Wooten has since returned from a broken jaw he received during the Boise State game, with a plastic mask. He has been a somewhat of a defensive hero for the Ducks, as he swatted five shots alone in the first half in their victory against Stanford.

Since the departure of Bol, Payton Pritchard has upped his ante, scoring 20 a piece last week versus Cal and Stanford. Their offensive assault is rounded out by Paul White in the starting line up and Victor Bailey coming off the bench. Will Richardson provides the Ducks with a floor general with play making capabilities.

Although the Ducks have had a subpar season, they are a respectable 6-5 in the conference and within striking distance of a top three spot in the conference. Be there 7:30, tomorrow at Gill Coliseum to support the Beavers in one of the biggest games of the season!
