Chance Nolan is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound quarterback from Saddleback Junior College. There were rumors Chance was interested in the Beavers after Oregon State offered him a scholarship and he announced his commitment via Twitter Monday afternoon.

In 11 games this past season Chance Nolan threw for 3,315 yards, 38 TDs, 6 INTs with a 65.9% completion percentage. According to 247 Sports Chance Nolan held offers from Oklahoma State, UMass, NMSU, Troy and others. He’ll be the second quarterback in the 2020 recruiting class (joining Ben Gulbranson) and unless Oregon State unexpectedly adds a graduate transfer quarterback I think there’s a good chance that Chance Nolan cracks the two-deep on the depth chart next season.
As we almost saw in the Civil War game with the injury to Luton, depth behind Gebbia is extremely limited. It’s obvious that Jonathan Smith and company wanted to improve the depth in the quarterback room and there’s a great chance they just did that with the addition of Mr. Nolan.
