Championship Week Best Bets

Championship week!

NCAA Football: Texas at Baylor Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

A 3-2 week wraps up the regular-season of my weekly college football best bets. The overall record of (43-25-2) is pretty darn impressive actually. The 63% winning percentage is almost assuredly a sign of dumb-luck, but I’ll take it! The championship week of college football will be my final bonus picks for the season. Next year maybe I’ll pick some bowl games, when Oregon State (hopefully) goes bowling.

#1 - Utah (-6.5) vs. Oregon

Outside of one weird week four loss to USC, Utah has absolutely man-handled the Pac-12. Oregon is trending down, while Utah has been on an eight week up trend. Watching future first-rounder Justin Herbert throw terrible throw after terrible throw in the Civil War game makes me think he could struggle in the Pac-12 Championship game.

#2 - Baylor (+9) vs. Oklahoma

Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State pretty soundly last week and with Alabama picking up their 2nd loss the biggest debate will come down to Utah and Oklahoma for the final College Football Playoff spot (assuming all favorites take care of business). It’ll be both teams last chance to make an impression and I’m thinking The Sooners will struggle.

#3 - Georgia (+7.5) vs. LSU

Plot twist? Can the Georgia Bulldogs pull off the upset and lock up a CFP spot? Not only can they, I think it’s going to happen this weekend. That would really throw things out of wack and almost guarantee two SEC teams get in, because you’re not going to leave LSU or Georgia out in that scenario.

#4 - Ohio State (-16) vs. Wisconsin

Ohio State has been absolutely crushing teams this season. They are 9-3 against the spread this season, including last week’s big rivalry win. I think they’ll beat Wisconsin soundly as they head into the CFP.

#5 - Virginia (+28.5) vs. Clemson

Clemson started off slow this season, but has quietly been pounding opponents as the season has progressed. Virginia is spunky though. Give me the huge point spread here.

I checked these odds on FanDuel Sports Book on Monday morning. I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and watched plenty of football. Happy Holidays and go Beavs!
