After today’s 95-45 win over Southern Utah, Oregon State Head Coach Scott Rueck revealed that the team expects that forward Taya Corosdale will miss the remainder of the season. Steve Gress has a full report over at the Gazette-Times.
Corosdale was nursing hamstring injury during the offseason, and missed the Beavers exhibition games. She finally took the court in the Preseason WNIT final against Missouri State, but came down awkwardly and had to be helped off the court.
The situation will remind many Beaver fans of the sitution with Kat Tudor last season. Tudor tore her ACL in January, and is only now returning to the court. Every team deals with injuries, but it is especially unfortunate that the Beavers have lost two key contributors early for 2 seasons in a row.
Compounding that, freshman forward Kennedy Brown was hit in the eye during Thursday’s game, and sat out the second half. There’s no word yet on how serious the injury is, but hopefully Brown will be ready to go for November 29th’s game against Miami.
