Led by a balanced offensive effort that included five double-digit scorers, Oregon State took down Wyoming on Saturday night, 83-63, in their first true road test of the season.
As usual, forward Tres Tinkle (16 points) led the way for the Beavers, tallying 9 rebounds and 3 assists to go with his efficient scoring output. Center Kylor Kelley (13 points) and guard Ethan Thompson (13 points) shot a combined 9-18 from the field, while guards Gianni Hunt (11 points) and Zach Reichle (10 points) also found the double-digit plateau.
Hunt, the obvious surprise of the group, came off the bench to post a career-high in scoring in just 18 minutes of action. Freshman Jarod Lucas also chipped in 9 points of his own. Each of the two newcomers knocked down 3 three-pointers in the contest.
For Wyoming, the Cowboys scored a season-high 63 points anchored by 18 points from star guard Hunter Maldonado. Guard A.J. Banks was the only other Cowboy to find double-figures, finishing with 10 points.
Game Notes: Alfred Hollins finished with just 5 points on 1-5 shooting from the field as the lone starter to score single-digits...As a team, the Beavers out-rebounded Wyoming 34-27...Oregon State had just 9 assists on 27 made field-goals.
