James Rawls Commits to Oregon State

The Beavers land another juco defensive lineman

NCAA Football: Oregon State at Washington Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

James Rawls is a 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive lineman from Fullerton College. The junior college transfer was also heavily pursed by UNLV before deciding to commit to the Beavers.

James Rawls has some serious pass-rushing potential and will be relied on heavily to get in opposing backfields next season. Rawls was a freshman at Fullerton and he should have threes of eligibility remaining at the FBS level (Four years to play three).

Looking at Rawls statistics at Fullerton he accumulated 32 tackles and 5.5 sacks in just 10 games. Rawls has an official visit set up at the end of January to visit Corvallis and will be a welcome addition for a defense that needs play-makers, especially on the defensive line.

Most of Oregon State’s 2019 recruiting class signed during the early signing period (Dec. 19th-21st), but look for Rawls and a couple of other commits to sign on National Signing Day which is February 6th, 2019. Welcome to Beaver Nation James Rawls!
