Midway through the second quarter of today’s game against Southern Utah, Running Back Artavis Pierce left the field in pain with an apparent injury to his left arm/elbow following a long run.
Pierce was having a stellar day for the Beavers. He carried 11 times for 91 yards, and one touchdown. While the season is still young, it looked like Pierce was set to be the centerpiece for the offense.
And guess who just found the end zone for the third time this season.

TOUCHDOWN PIERCE.

Artavis Pierce tried to brace himself with his left arm while getting tackled out of bounds. Early reports say his return is “to be determined”. With the Beavers up 31-0, I would be very surprised if Pierce is inserted back in the game.
Update on Artavis Pierce is an elbow injury. His return is TBD per Oregon State.
