Oregon State Football: Injury Report (Week 2)

Who’s got the green light to play this weekend?

NCAA Football: Oregon State at Ohio State Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Oregon State football is suffering major injuries, particularly in their secondary. We don’t totally know who’s in and who’s out of the lineup yet against Southern Utah, but here’s what we DO know (and I throw in my guesses for tomorrow’s game).

OUT

  • David Morris - Foot (3-5 weeks)
  • Jay Irvine - Shoulder (unknown timetable)
  • Noah Togiai - Knee (4-6 weeks)
  • Jeromy Reichner - Foot (3-5 weeks)
  • Omar Hicks-Onu - Undisclosed injury (unknown)
  • Calvin Tyler Jr. - Knee (Likely out for season)
  • Isaiah Dunn - Did not suit up for game.

IN

JAKE LUTON

OSU’s starting quarterback went out after the first drive against Ohio State. He was later diagnosed with a concussion and has been in concussion protocol all week, while participating in non-contact portions of practice. It’s unclear if doctors have cleared Luton for tomorrow’s game, but my guess is he will be cleared and will get the start. Expect both Blount and Luton to play though.

UPDATE: Conor Blount is getting the start vs. SUU. Jake Luton also looks available to play.

ISAIAH DUNN

Earlier this week Jonathan Smith said there’s a 50/50 chance Dunn plays against the Thunderbirds. Dunn has missed most of fall camp with an injury. He started five games as a true freshman a season ago. My guess is he plays a handful of snaps against SUU.

UPDATE: Isaiah Dunn is OUT for the game against SUU.

ISAAC GARCIA

Isaac Garcia was hurt in the third quarter against Ohio State and did not return. I don’t think the injury was too serious and Garcia should be able to play against Southern Utah, even if he is on a limited snap count.

ISAIAH TUFAGA

Oregon State’s Isaiah Tufaga was also shaken up in the third quarter against the Buckeyes. Tufaga did return to the game though and will be available against SUU.

ANDRZEJ HUGHES-MURRAY

Hughes-Murray was also shaken up last Saturday (pictured). He did return for the Beavers and will be crucial for the defense going forward as he gets the start.

SHAWN WILSON

Shawn Wilson went down early against Ohio State, but came back to record the interception on Haskins that was returned almost 80-yards (by him/Kaleb Hayes). Wilson will be available against SUU.
