The Oregon State Beavers opened the 2018 football season with a 77-31 loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday. Despite the loss, the depleted Beavs competed admirably and, to many, showed that they are on the right track under Jonathan Smith. Social media lit up with the reactions of Beaver Nation all day.

Nine months ago Jonathan Smith took over as head coach of the Beavers. Today it's evident just how much progress the Beavers have made under his leadership. Smith was the right hire at the right time.

Score board aside - the beavs offense is lightyears ahead of where it was last year.
