- By now, we’ve all been cheering about it for the last day or so, but the Oregon State baseball team defeated Minnesota in the Corvallis Super Regional over the weekend. That earned them their seventh trip to the College World Series. The national media continues to take notice of the high caliber of Oregon State’s play over the last several years. Dwight Jaynes of NBC Sports Northwest wrote an article about Pat Casey’s entire body of work at OSU.

- Meanwhile, Trevor Larnach has put on an offensive show the entire season and kept that going in the Minnesota series. The Twin Cities Pioneer Press ran a feature on Larnach Saturday and what he expects from his upcoming experience playing in the Twins’ organization.

- In the football world, we’re the same mix of excited and terrified for the Beavs’ upcoming season as you all are. Why terrified? Partly because people like SBN’s own Bill Connelly predict that Oregon State will finish last in the league this year...again.
Hopefully, Jonathan Smith’s first year goes better than that.

- Also on the mothership’s site this week, Jason Kirk went through every single week one FBS game and ranked them one to 92. Oregon State’s daunting matchup with Ohio State comes in at number 86.
I’m only like 50% sure that isn’t because he thinks Ohio State will win by 86...
