Once again, the Beavers had little trouble with the Washington State Cougars on Saturday night. OSU put up 17 hits on their way to nine runs while the Cougars had just one run off of seven hits. WSU also committed the only error of the day.
Every OSU batter got at least one hit in the victory.
WSU scored their only run in the bottom of the second with a homer by JJ Hancock.
OSU got on top in the third though with RBIs from Nick Madrigal and Adley Rutschman.
In the top of the fourth, Kyle Nobach got his second homer in as many games to bring in tow more runs. Also in that frame, Steven Kwan batted in a run through the right side and then scored one of his own shortly after on a wild pitch.
Preston Jones added an RBI single of his own in the top of the seventh.
The top of the eighth inning was more or less a repeat of the third with RBIs from Nick Madrigal and Adley Rutschman adding RBIs to round out the scoring for the Beavers.
Bryce Fehmel pitched 5.1 innings to get the win and improve his record to 6-1 on the season. He allowed six hits and a run with one walk and two strikeouts. Brandon Eisert pitched the final 3.2 innings allowing one hit with three strikeouts and was credited with his fourth save of the year.
OSU improved to 35-7 with the win. They will attempt to complete the sweep on Sunday afternoon.
