The Oregon State Beavers took on Western Kentucky Friday morning in the 6/11 match up in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Beavers (in my humble opinion) were woefully under-seeded and performed like they deserved a much higher seed today. Marie Gulich and company will now face the winner of the 3/14 match up, Tennessee and Liberty.
Marie Gulich was dominate for Oregon State. The All-American center finished with 29 points and 15 rebounds! Kat Tudor added 19 points and Mikayla Pivec chipped in 15 points (and 8 assists).
Because the Beavers did not receive a top-4 seed they opened on the road in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2014. Tennessee as the 3-seed earned that honor, but they could not have been happy about seeing the Beavs in their region. Oregon State will take on the winner of Tennessee/Liberty, Monday March 19th.
