Oregon State Basketball: Tres Tinkle Looks Dominant in 83-64 Win Over Wyoming

Kylor Kelley comes off the bench and dunks all over the Cowboys.

NCAA Basketball: Oregon State at UCLA Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

On Saturday against Wyoming, the Beavers took control early and never looked back en route to an 83-64 victory.

The Beavers took the lead early, and then exploded at the 14 minute mark for a 19-2 run that pretty much put the Cowboys to bed early. Wyoming battled back to cut the OSU lead to nine points, but with a 41-32 lead at halftime, the Beavers were looking pretty good.

The second half was much of the same. Wyoming scored to opent the half, but then Oregon State went on a 14 point run. Wyoming never recovered from that deficit, and the Beavers took an easy W.

Tres Tinkle was the leader on the court. He scored 28 points for his 37th straight double digit game, and added 11 rebounds and 5 assists. He was especially deadly from behind the arc, with his three threes burying Wyoming early.

After a sluggish game in the season opener against UC Riverside, Alfred Hollins got a chance to show off his skills tonight. He seemed impossible for Wyoming to guard, and finished the night with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The Beavers have been looking for help from the bench for what seems like an eternity, so it’s hard not to be excited with the performance Kylor Kelley turned in tonight. He swatted down 4 Wyoming shots, and scored 12 points. I could get used to those dunks.

Stephen Thompson Jr. had another excellent night with 16 points and 4 assists. Ethan Thompson added another 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Player of the Game

It has to be Tres Tinkle after the night he had. There was just nothing Wyoming could do to slow him down. But my gut really wants to give it to Kylor Kelley, cause the idea of Oregon State having some bench presence makes this team super exciting.
