The heart of the Beavers’ offense, star running back Jermar Jefferson, appears to be out for today’s game against California. Jefferson did not appear on Oregon State’s injury report for this week, but the word is that he has a mild hamstring sprain, and is unlikely to play in today’s game.
With Jefferson out, Artavis Pierce has gotten the lion’s share of carries today. He’s had 7 carries for 28 yards so far today. Pierce left Oregon State’s win over Southern Utah with an elbow injury, and has been out since. Jefferson stepped up, and has been the star of the show in an otherwise hard to watch season for the Beavers.
If anything changes throughout today’s game, Building the Dam will keep you updated.
UPDATE
With about 6 minutes left in the first half, Jefferson is back in the game. He’s rushed once for one yard, but the Beavers offense needs something down 14-0. We’ll see if he can provide that spark.
