The Beavers cruised to a 76-64 win in the Civil War game Friday night. The Beavers clamped down defensively and allowed Oregon to shoot just 36.2% from the floor. The win halted a three-game losing streak to the Ducks.

Wayne Tinkle gave big minutes to his stars and they performed. Tres Tinkle, Drew Eubanks and Stevie Thompson all played 37+ minutes and each stuffed the stat sheet. Tinkle posted a double-double (19 pts & 12 rebs), while Eubanks chipped in 15 pts & 8 rebs and Stevie added 16 pts & 6 assists.

The real hero of the night was Seth Berger though. He scored an OSU career-high with 12 points on just four shot attempts. He also added 5 rebounds in 19 minutes of action and earned a standing ovation from the crowd thanks to his hustle. Kendal Manuel also had some big moments with timely three-pointers off the bench.

Oregon’s top-scorer and former West Linn high school star, Payton Pritchard, struggled all night. He ended with just 9 pts and went 3-for-10 from the field. The Beavers were giving up a lot of open looks early in the game, but switched to a 2-3 zone. Drew Eubanks looked comfortable down low protecting the rim and it forced the Ducks to rely on their three-point shooting. Fortunately for the Beavs, they never found any sort of rhythm outside (shooting 27.6% for the game). The Beavers will now get a well-deserved week of rest before heading out on a tough road trip to take on the Arizona schools.
