Another Beaver turned pro Thursday as senior goalkeeper Bella Geist was a third round pick (29th overall) by Portland’s professional women’s soccer team the Portland Thorns.

She was the only Oregon State player selected in this year’s draft. Geist, a Milwaukie, Oregon native, is OSU’s all-time saves leader with 394 saves in her career. That’s also the fourth most in a career in the history of the Pac-12.
She had 18 clean sheets over her four year career and set the program single-season saves record as a freshman with 126.

Geist has also trained with the United States U-23 National Team. The defending champs gain some quality depth at keeper with this former Beav.
Geist was apparently also quite the talented football kicker back in the day.

Geist was also an excellent kicker on Putnam’s football team.
