Oregon State put their SoCal problems behind them Friday night, earning a much needed victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils. They’ll try to build on that momentum when they match up with the Arizona Wildcats this Sunday at Gill Coliseum. Tip off is set for 1:00 pm, and the game can be watched on the PAC-12 Network, or listened to on Oregon State All Access.
Arizona (4-12 overall, 0-4 in PAC-12)
The Wildcats have had a rough season so far, and currently sit on the bottom of the PAC-12. They have won only 4 games, and none of them in conference play. Last week they fell at home to Stanford and Cal.
The top scorer this season for Arizona has been Guard JaLea Bennett. So far this season she is scoring 15.9 points per game, good enough for 8th in the PAC-12. Arizona’s biggest defensive threat is Forward Sam Thomas, who has 28 steals and 27 blocks so far this season. She’s no slouch when it comes to scoring either, with 10.2 points per game.
Prediction
Oregon State got themselves back on solid ground against Arizona State, cutting down on turnovers and staying tough in a game that could have gotten away with them. Arizona should not be able to put up quite the same effort as the Beavers previous three opponents. There’s no conference game that you can call an easy win, but the Beavers should feel confident that they can get back into the thick of the conference race here. As long they avoid turnovers, and get their perimeter shooting back on track, this should be a victory.
