- According to Matthew Kenerly over at College Football News, Oregon State transfer quarterback Marcus McMaryion looks to be headed to Fresno State for the upcoming football season, after recently choosing to leave the Beavers program. McMaryion, who lost the starting quarterback competition with Ventura College transfer Jake Luton in early August, is an immediately eligible graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining.
- USA Today took a shot a predicting the 2017 records of all 130 FBS teams, projecting that Oregon State will go 5-7 overall this season, including a 3-6 mark in Pac-12 play. Some surprising conference projections from the article include Stanford and Washington typing atop the North Division and UCLA finishing at 9-3 in the South Division.
