The Beavers have already filled five of their fifteen open scholarships for the 2018 recruiting class. We covered a handful of their remaining top targets here. Take a look at a few more recruits that Gary Andersen and his staff have been targeting below...
Eli’jah Winston
Eli’jah Winston is an incredibly talented linebacker from Central Catholic high school. The Beavers have made it an added emphasis to attract in-state recruits and in the class of 2018 in Oregon is one of the most talented in recent memory. Winston’s older brother unfortunately committed to the Ducks though and LSU is still in the mix for Winston’s services.
Jonathan Gibson
Jonathan Gipson is a big, physical corner who also has great speed and instincts. The Georgia native recently released his top 7 (in order): Tennessee, Indiana, Oregon State, Auburn, Colorado and Clemson. The only school that hasn’t offered yet on that list is Clemson. It could be difficult to convince Gipson to stay away from SEC/ACC country, but he would be a great fit in Oregon State’s secondary.
Jaquan Beaver
The talented outside linebacker from Miami has been on the Beavers radar for awhile now and received an offer pretty early into his high school career. Oregon State and Louisville are looking like his top-2 teams right now.
Isaiah Tufaga
Isaiah Tufaga is one of the top-rated recruits in Hawaii. The safety prospect shows great versatility with the ability to cover in space and also stop the run game. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect listed USC as his dream school, but has not received an offer yet and he could decided to follow another islander (Charles Moku Watson) to Corvallis.
Terrence Horne
Terrence Horne is a small but dynamic athlete from Florida. Horne who is equipped with track star speed, can do it all on offense but is being recruited to play running back for Oregon State. The Beavers were the first school to offer Horne a scholarship and while he now holds a plethora of offers from schools like: Cincinnati, Colorado State, UCF, USF etc. Oregon State looks like the favorite to land a commitment.
Cole Turner
In BTD’s most recent recruiting roundup, we talked about how Oregon State is making it a priority to recruit playmaking tight ends for the 2018 class. Cole Turner is another prime candidate to fill that void. The hybrid WR/TE would need to add weight to his slender frame, but has the skills that the Beavers are looking for.
Malakai Salu
The three-star linebacker from Central Catholic (teammates with Eli’jah Winston) currently holds offers from Hawaii and Navy. While the Beavers haven’t offered Malakai Salu just yet don’t be surprised when they do eventually; especially considering the focus that Gary Andersen has put on recruiting the in-state talent.
Here’s a few more recruits to keep an eye on for the class of 2018:
- Teron Bradford - CB
- Nikko Hall - WR
- Kobe Smith - WR
- Dylan Thomas - WR
- Jacoby Hopkins - WR
- Jerome Ford - RB
- Kase Rogers - ATH
- Thomas Preston III - JUCO OL
