- Around the web, the multitude of services breaking down the potential of Oregon State is growing by the minute with most recently, College Football News and our buddies over at UW Dawg Pound giving their take on the Beavers. College Football News looks at Oregon State with a bit of concern, wondering why head coach Gary Andersen hasn’t turned the program into national contenders just yet, while within the Beavers edition of the world-famous Gekko Files, it’s noted that Oregon State won’t exactly play the easiest schedule in the country this season.
- College Football News also decided to take on previewing Oregon State’s (and college football’s) opening day game against Colorado State, in which they predict (spoiler alert) a Rams win over the Beavers. For more on the Rams, it’s never a bad time to check out Bill Connelly’s (SB Nation) preview of the team, who also unveil a brand-new stadium this season.
- Moving away from football for a bit, the Corvallis Gazette-Times headed to the world of Oregon State track and field, where they profiled Beavers stand-out Kara Hallock and her quest to not only make it to nationals, but also to become an All-American. With help from some unique coaching and a refined approach, Hallock is making some serious moves to become one of the more feared competitors in the Pac-12.
- Vanderbilt seems fairly confident heading into a series with the top-ranked team in all of college baseball, but BeaversEdge is not so sure the Commodores will be the team heading to Omaha. Instead, they give us their list of five pretty good reasons why the Beavers will make the College World Series at the end of the day.
- We all can’t get enough of this Beavers baseball team and their upcoming season with the Commodores but after all is said and done, do you ever wonder what is the professional potential of some of the key players in this series? For that answer, you might want to check out Bleacher Report’s 2017 MLB Draft Big Board, where some notable Beavers and Commodores both grace the top-tier prospect ratings.
