On Saturday night, Gonzaga and Oregon both booked their trips to Phoenix, in masterful deconstructions of their opponents that put the Pacific Northwest on center-stage in the college basketball world. On Sunday, it’ll be the South’s turn, as all four Sunday schools are located below the Mason-Dixon line, including three that compete out of the SEC. What a day of college hoops we should be in store for.
The two-game slate begins with a surprise meeting between #4 Florida and #7 South Carolina, that will guarantee that at least one of the Final Four schools is from the SEC, as the WCC and the Pac-12 have already snagged their spot in the final field. The last of the Elite Eight games will feature a rematch of an earlier season contests in the CBS Sports Classic, where Kentucky knocked off North Carolina in a thrilling 103-100 game. Fans in Memphis will only be hoping for a similar contest this time around, as in that game, both Wildcats’ freshman Malik Monk (47 points) and Tar Heels’ forward Justin Jackson (34 points) had their own individual prolific outings.
Another day of the NCAA Tournament also means another round in our BTD Yahoo! Tournament Pick ‘Em Bracket Pool, which has seen a large amount of reshuffling on the leaderboard over the past few days. The “Top 5” can be found below:
1. The_Coach - “The_Coach” (72 points)

Let the madness continue!
