The Beavers are coming off an encouraging effort against #5 ranked Arizona, but are still winless in Pac-12 play. This afternoon’s game against Arizona State could change that, if the Beavers put it all together. The Sun Devils are just 4.5 point favorites and the Beavers are playing in the friendly confines of Gill Coliseum.
Arizona State (10-13) is not know for their defensive prowess. They rely heavily on guard play and do not have many reliable big men. This could be good news for Drew Eubanks, as Oregon State should look to slow it down and get the ball in his hands as much as possible. What Arizona State lacks on the defensive end though, they more than make up for on offense. Starting guards, Torian Graham (19.3 PPG) and Tra Holder (18.9 PPG) can light it up and knockdown shots in a hurry. The Beavers will need to stay disciplined on defense and guard the three-point arc if they want to walk out of Gill with their first Pac-12 victory.
It should be an exciting game. Arizona State will seek to push the tempo and utilize their speed, while Oregon State will try to play sound defense and make the Sun Devils beat them in the half-court. We are just about 30 minutes from game time, so get ready for some Oregon State basketball!
