It wasn’t the prettiest game ever, but the Lady Beavs found a way to get it done as they beat Utah 63-49.
Oregon State got off to a very slow start, looking very sluggish out of the gate. The beginning of the game consisted of a lot of turnovers. They finished with 18 turnovers for the game. Luckily, shots were falling for the Beavs. They hit six three pointers in the first half and shot 49% from the field. OSU looked like they were going to pull away early on in the second quarter, but Utah used a 7-0 run to get back in the game. The third quarter was very tightly contested as well with each team scoring 14 points. But once the 4th quarter hit, it was all orange and black. The Beavers outscored the Utes 19-9 in the final frame and closed out the game strong.
Sydney Wiese and Mikayla Pivec led the way for the Beavers with 14 points a piece, while Emily Potter had 17 points and 6 rebounds for the Utes.
The Beavers are keeping pace with last season’s team who had the same record through 27 games (24-3) as this year’s team does. The Lady Beavs next game is a huge home matchup against Stanford on Friday and it will be aired on the PAC 12 Network.
