David Morris is a 6'3", 205 lb. OLB from Sherwood High in Sherwood, OR, a Portland suburb. He also plays RB for the Bowmen, but is a 3-star prospect as a linebacker, the position Andersen envisions for him. He also picked up a 4th star after a huge senior season from Scout, but remains a 3 star by most ranking systems.

Morris helped Sherwood to a league title, and the semi-finals last year in the second year since the Bowmen were moved up to the state's largest classification.

From The Oregonian:

Morris picked Oregon State over offers from California and Washington State, his other 2 finalists in his selection, and also offers from Boise State, Colorado State, and Hawaii.

"They were the first ones to believe in me, and the first ones to offer me, and that meant a ton," Morris explained. "For me, just getting an opportunity to play at the next level was big. The first school to do that was Oregon State, and that meant a lot to my family. Also, having Coach Andersen come down to my football game, and actually watch it, that was big for me as well."

It represents an important get for an Oregon State team that's still working to implement Andersen's preferred 3-4 defense, which requires linebackers with both edge rush and cover skills.
