We decided to fire up the ol’ Google Analytics and take a look at our most read articles from 2017. It was a tough year for Beaver Nation but take a look at the top articles from the past year:

10. An unbiased look at the hiring of Mike Riley

The recent hiring of Mike Riley was a polarizing event in the Oregon State community. It remains to be seen if it was a good call, but it will certainly be interesting to see what his legacy will be when he finally retires.

9. The search for a coach continues

Gary Andersen and the Beavers mutually parted ways midway through the season and that gave way to a longgggg coaching search. The Beavers finally ended up with Jonathan Smith as their head coach and our hoping he is the man to take them to the promised land.

8. Madden 17 Ratings: Brandin Cooks tops in Speed, Paea tops in Strength

This article was published in August of 2016 and kept popping up this past year. Madden is a great game though and Brandin Cooks is still me hero.

7. Oregon State Baseball’s season comes to a close

The saddest article of the year. Oregon State baseball is amazing though and I can’t wait for them to dominate again in 2018. Also, never forget:

6. Why the New England Patriots should draft Sean Harlow

Sean Harlow has was not in fact drafted by the Patriots instead the Atlanta Falcons drafted him in the fourth round. Despite not playing all year Matt Ryan still got him a sweet grill to cook on.

5. How to Watch Oregon State vs. Colorado State

Ahhh... The first game of the college football season. Remember when the possibilities seemed endless and expectations were “at least a bowl game”.

4. Why the Houston Texans are a perfect fit for Treston Decoud

Treston Decoud wrapped up his rookie season today. He was active for a few games throughout the season, but will have to take the next step if he wants to make a name for himself in the NFL.

3. Gary Andersen gave up 12.6 million to leave Oregon State

Gary Andersen left Oregon State on very weird terms. It was one of the weirdest head coaching departures I’ve ever seen. The good news is that the Beavers won’t owe him any additional compensation.

2. Worst Football team in the land: A study

This is one of my favorite articles... ahem ‘COLUMNS’ of the year. Despite the depressing nature of the deep dive study it is very well written and intriguing. Spoiler alert the Beavers were NOT the worst FBS team in the land.

1. Is Mike Riley returning to Oregon State?

And we are back to Mike Riley. Major spoiler alert: HE’S BACK! (Third times the charm?)

Have a great New Years everyone! And here’s to hoping for a bright 2018 for Oregon State Go Beavers!
