The Oregon State Women’s Basketball team outscored UC Santa Barbara by 16 in the second quarter en route to their fifth straight blowout win. Aleah Goodman led the Beavers with a career high 17 points, with nine of those coming from behind the arc. Goodman increased her three point percentage to 59.3%, which is good enough for first in the nation. Kat Tudor chipped in a couple of threes herself on her way a to a 14 point night while Marie Gulich and Taya Corosdale each scored 10 points to help the Beavers to a 25 point victory.

As a team, Oregon State made 53% of their shots, including 56% from downtown, while holding Santa Barbara to 33%. While the Beavers took care of business on the shooting end, they could have played a bit more aggressively as they gave up 17 offensive rebounds and committed just three fouls.

Santa Barbara took the early lead when Danae Miller hit the game’s first shot for a three, but before you knew it, Oregon State was up by 20 in the middle of the second quarter after a Tudor three. The Gauchos would never get closer than 18 after that. Tal Sahar led Santa Barbara with 11 points while Drew Edelman scored 10.

The Beavers head back home to Gill on Wednesday to take on a more challenging opponent in UC Davis. The Aggies will be looking for the upset to take their win total to double digits and avoid their first loss. Check back with Building the Dam for a game preview.
