Oregon State is hoping to bounce back from last season's abysmal 5-27 outing, which was hampered by star forward Tres Tinkle playing only six games due to injury. And while Tinkle should be back, the Beavers will likely be without Gligorije Rakocevic who broke his nose in practice this week.
Oregon State big man Gligorije Rakocevic broke his nose in practice Sunday, Wayne Tinkle said, and is doubtful for Friday's season-opener.

Southern Utah is treading in similar territory as the Beavers. The Thunderbirds finished last season at 6-27 overall, which included two wins over non-Division I opponents. They are also hoping for a program revival in the second season under head coach Todd Simon.
