The news of Gary Andersen and Oregon State football mutually parting ways on Monday sent shock waves throughout the program and country. Here at BTD we speculated on who might be a good fit as the next head coach. Andersen’s decision to tear up his contract and leave 12.6 million dollars on the table allows Oregon State to have complete flexibility and freedom moving forward. Despite the gesture many of the current football players were not happy after hearing the news. Below is just a handful of some of their reactions to hearing about Gary Andersen.
Quite a few players were upset/hurt:
Give that shit back and gimme back my coach bruh. He was never the problem. https://t.co/6hzBq7nd6T

He allowed myself & others to chase our dreams & showed us how to do it the right way, day in & day out. Outsiders see W's & L's, & lose sight of all the other things that come with it. A great FB coach, but more importantly, a great role model. Thank you for everything, Coach A.

Interim coach Cory Hall and the rest of the football team are in a tough spot as they recover from the shock of Gary Andersen’s departure and try to prepare for the rest of the season. None of the players in Oregon State’s current recruiting class have decommitted to the school, but it will be interesting to see what happens if their is a complete overhaul in the coaching staff.
