The nightmare of a season for Oregon State continues as they fall to Washington State by a final score of 75-62. The Beavs held strong with Washington State for a better part of the game, but in the last 5 minutes of the game the Cougars caught fire and put the game out of reach.
The Beavers offense never really got it going on a consistent basis, which has been a theme this season. There were sparks of scoring, mostly by Drew Eubanks and Kendal Manuel. But the sparks were very short and were not enough to win.
There were bright spots for the Beavers in this game though. Kendal Manuel finished with a career high 20 points on 7-11 shooting including 6 three-pointers. He was the most consistent offensive weapon tonight. Drew Eubanks also had a big impact on the offensive end finishing with 16 points and 9 rebounds, but was called for 2 late offensive fouls that gave the Cougars some momentum on the other side of the floor.
For Washington State, Josh Hawkinson finished with a double-double pouring in 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Conor Clifford made a nice contribution as well putting up 13 points and grabbing 2 boards.
The Beavs (4-12, 0-3 in PAC 12) have a couple days off before they play Washington (7-7, 0-2 PAC 12) Saturday at noon. Both teams will be looking for their first conference win and a bounce back win after their losses.
