John Canzano of OregonLive probably hit the nail on the head with his explanation of how Oregon State did some things in their season opener that a team expecting to win on the road just can’t do. Agree or not, it’s definitely worth the read.
Our friends over at The Daily Gopher have some reaction to Golden Gophers’ win from the Minnesota perspective. If you’re still restless overthinking every little play from last night’s game, don’t worry, they are as well. And their team won the game.
If you watched the game, you saw just what kind of menace Minnesota’s Tai’yon Devers is probably going to be for years to come in the Big Ten. Unfortunately for Oregon State, the Beavers were the first ones to try and contain the freshman phenom. If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that Darell Garretson won’t forget him anytime soon.
Minnesota head coach Tracy Claeys both defends his position on going for the two-point conversion up by seven with under two minutes to play and agrees with the targeting rule and how it was interpreted in the game. The article also gives some credit to Garretson’s toughness, which couldn’t be understated last night.
In case you missed any of our coverage from last night’s game, we have our game recap and some post-game highlights already posted, as a full-scale in-depth recap is scheduled to come sometime today. Also, you should check out Marcus Russell’s “Complete College Football Viewing Guide”, which takes you through all the college football games scheduled for this weekend and how you can get your eyes on them.
