Fantasy football fans who drafted Brandin Cooks are thrilled today. The former Oregon State standout has been impressive in the NFL so far, but today he provided one if his all-time greatest highlights. During the third quarter, Brandin Cooks beat his man and showed off his speed for a 98 yard touchdown. It’s the longest play from scrimmage in the Saints franchise history and gave New Orleans a 24-10 lead.

The Raiders came back to beat the Saints in dramatic fashion; winning 35-34 by converting a 2-point conversion with under a minute to play. Brandin Cooks finished with 6 receptons for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also had a carry that went for 11 yards.
Drew Brees threw for 423 yards and 4 touchdowns in the loss. Cooks’ fellow wide receiver Willie Snead had 9 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown.
Last season, Brandin Cooks had 84 receptions for 1,138 yards and 9 touchdowns, but if the first game is any indication of how the rest of the season is going to go then Cooks will shatter his numbers from his sophomore campaign. But, the Saints will need to bounce back from their week one defeat in order to make the playoffs.
