Travis Mackay marks the 13th recruit for Oregon State's 2017 class. According to 247 sports, Mackay also had offers from Cal and Wyoming; while also receiving interest from Oregon, Washington, Boise State and others.
Mackay has great size and displays good mobility. He currently plays left tackle for his high school team and has the frame to be an offensive tackle for Oregon State.
He will probably need to put on some more weight and strength in order to contribute at the D-I level. But clearly has all the physical tools needed to be an outstanding offensive lineman at the next level.
His highlight video shows that he is strong, athletic, and not afraid to impose his will on opponents. Gary Andersen and his staff have been very aggressive when it comes to recruiting and it is starting to pay off. Look for Travis Mackay to make an impact for the Beavers in the coming years.
