Oregon State stopped their five game skid with a 6-3 win over Oregon tonight. The win pushed the 24th ranked Beavers to a 30-17 overall record. It also moved them closer to 500. in Pac-12 play with a record of 11-12. The Beavers desperately needed the win with now only seven games left in the season.

Oregon jumped to a quick early lead off of a Daniel Patzlaff home run that scored two in the second inning. The Beavers would not let this one slip away as they answered back in the bottom of the third. An error by Duck's second baseman Carson Breshears got things started for the Beavers as Caleb Hamilton scored from second. KJ Harrison sent the ball over the left field fence to add three to the board and give the Beavers a 4-2 lead. It was his ninth home run and 43rd RBI of the season.

The bottom of the fourth the Ducks cut the lead to one, but that was as close they get for the rest of the game. Another error by the Ducks in the seventh allowed the Beavers to extend their lead to 6-3 with two runs added. Errors prove to be the deciding factor as Oregon committed four errors resulting in three Oregon State runs. The Beavers were held to only four hits as the Ducks out hit them with five hits.

The Beavers used a combination of Luke Heimlich and Bryce Fehmel at the mound. Heimlich pitched 5.2 innings in the win giving up five hits and three runs. He improved his record to 6-3 on the season. Fehmel pitched the final 3.1 innings, giving up no runs or hits in his second save of the season.

Sunday the series concludes at 3pm with a chance of rain. It is a must win for the Beavers as they hope to take the series and make a late push in the final games of the season.
