Tres Tinkle was awarded the first Pac-12 player of the week award of the 2016 season, on Monday. Oregon State won both of their games this week to start the season off (2-0). Tres played a huge role in leading the Beavers to victory over Prairie View A&M and UTSA.
Through two games Tres Tinkle is averaging 23 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. Despite playing getting his first game action since he suffered a fracture in his right foot back on March 1st. The coaching staff have expressed a desire to limit Tres Tinkle’s workload and minutes, but they needed everyone of his 38 minutes on Sunday to beat UTSA.
Tres is the first Oregon State player to win the award since Gary Payton II, on Jan. 26, 2015. The Beavers are back in action Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against Lamar University.
