The Houston Rockets took on the New York Knicks Tuesday night. And Gary Payton II got some more NBA action. Payton II entered the game in the fourth quarter and immediately recorded his first of five rebound. Soon after on the other side of the court, he did what he always does, he DUNKED IT!

Gary was impressive in his preseason debut with 3 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals, a solid performance in the relatively small amount of playing time that he was given (5:51).
Tonight, besides the aforementioned dunk and five rebounds he also recorded a leaping steal and missed his only three-point shot of the game.
The Rockets went on to beat the Knicks 130-103 and moved to 2-0 in the pre-season, so far. They face New Orleans next on October 9th 4:30 am PST (The game is being played in China).
GP2’s quest to make Houston’s roster is in full-force. He’s been impressive in the first couple of pre-season games and he also played for Houston’s Summer League team. As a senior at Oregon State, Payton II averaged team highs of 16.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals. According to Stats, Inc., he was the first Division I player to average at least 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals in a single season dating back to 1996-97, which is as far back as their data tracks.
Payton has made dunking a habit in his first two NBA games. Watch him throw it down in the Rockets last game against.
