Oregon St. quarterback Sean Mannion has been taken by the St. Louis Rams in the 3rd. round of the NFL draft this evening, with the 89th pick overall, the 25th pick of the 3rd round.

Mannion, a 6'5", 230 lb. 4 year starter for the Beavers, holds 18 Oregon St. passing records, and is the all-time leader in the history of the Pac-12 in career passing yards, and in the top 10 all-time.

Mannion is the first Oregon St. player taken this season, and the 4th quarterback taken overall in the draft.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher is retooling the quarterback position, having already acquired veterans Nick Foles and Case Keenum, so the competition to replace Sam Bradford, who was traded for Foles, will be at once wide open, and crowded in St. Louis this preseason.

Mannion will join fellow Beaver graduate Johnny Hekker, the Rams' All-Pro punter in St. Louis.
