After a bizarre end to the game last night in the rain, better weather will greet Oregon St. and Grambling today as the Beavers and Tigers square off for a double header to conclude their series, with the first game starting just after 1 PM.
Grambling overcame an early 5-0 Oregon St. lead with a 5 run 8th inning, only to see the Beavers answer with 4 of their own in the bottom of the soggy 8th, in which the teams used a combined 9 pitchers, for the 10-7 win.
The Beavers (6-2) will send freshman RHP Drew Rasmussen (0-0, 3.00) to the mound for the first game, and plan to use junior transfer RHP Travis Eckert (0-0, 4.50) in the second game.
The Tigers (2-6) haven't announced their starting pitching plans for either game in advance.
There will be a change to the normal radio coverage in the mid-valley, with KLOO-AM 1340 carrying the games today, instead of the usual KEJO-1240 AM, which will have the broadcast of the women's basketball game against California, which tips just after 3 PM. The Beavers will be looking to claim the Pac-12 regular season championship outright, with no tie-breakers, with a win over the Bears in that one.
